For Mario,

I imagine you tall and thin in heaven. With every left foot and right foot of yours, I imagine the flowers singing at the coming of your voice in a lonesome valley that’s far away- I do not belong to it, just yet.
With no regrets, no mistakes, and your dashing smile I imagine you, always.
For you are the good man you have always been.
You are the light in my window that keeps me warm, my dear, the light of fifty eight long years
I welcome you to wherever you are, wherever you are going
And say goodbye forever, a sad state of mind
But always, I imagine you.
